Analytics & Quality Assurance
Which methods document the quality of a research peptide, what the certificate of analysis records and which products go through this process.
Four tests
The peptides are regularly sent to an external, independent laboratory with no connection to our company. They are tested for identity, purity, heavy metals and endotoxins.
- Mass spectrometry (MS) confirms the molecular mass and thus the identity of the sequence.
- HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) separates the peptide from impurities and gives the purity as a percentage.
- Heavy metals: testing for lead, cadmium, mercury and arsenic in the powder.
- Endotoxins: testing for bacterial endotoxins, a standard parameter for lyophilised peptides.
The certificate of analysis (COA)
The certificate of analysis summarises the results for the tested material: product, test date, method, measured purity. Published certificates of analysis are in the Lab section, and products still awaiting a report are marked “pending”; how to read them is explained in the guide Reading a certificate of analysis.
What the analytics are not
The tests document the identity and purity of the reagent. They make no statement about any application – all products are intended exclusively for in-vitro research.
